(Capsicum annum ‘Sweet Chocolate’)
An hardy annual shrub with attractive autumn fruit that starts green, goes chocolate and then ripens to deep dark red.
Flavours/Food Partners
Serve raw with salad vegetables, cooked with meat and vegetables. Partner with garlic, shallots, onions, tomatoes, oregano, marjoram, thyme and rosemary.
Health/Cooking/Medicinal
Capsicums are a versatile vegetable that are great raw in salads, sandwiches and with dips. Alternatively lightly fry in stir fry’s and Asian dishes or slow baked with meat and other vegetables in European style cooking. Stuff with crab, diced ,mushrooms, chopped basil and steamed rice then bake. Harvest chocolate or red according to your taste.
Landscaping/Planting
Plant in open sunny position, in moist well drained soil.
Cultivation/Fertiliser
Feed regularly with Seasol and Powerfeed from mid spring to late autumn. Deep soak when required.
