Despite being new to the Australian market this is one of the world’s oldest varieties of Asparagus dating back to France in the 1860’s. It produces thick rose purple spears that are harvestable in two rather than normal three years.
Growing Tips
Likes moist well-drained soil in a range of light conditions.
Use
Sweet asparagus flavour, that works well with traditional root vegetables or lightly cooked with standard salad vegetables like cherry tomatoes. Partners well with Garlic, Dill, smoked salmon, mushrooms, ham and other strong flavoured meats.

Harvest | Good source of dietary fibre and protein. Pick the spring shoots when they are 20cm long. Should get 3 months cropping for the next 20 years. |
