A really good performer with lovely flowers and a long flowering season on a trouble free plant. A good cut flower.

FLOWERS

The typical Scabiosa pincushion flowers are a clear mauve and appear from mid spring to mid autumn.

POSITION & USES

Grows best in a sunny position in a wide range of soil types. The dense foliage makes this plant a good weed suppressing ground cover. It isĀ ideal along a path or interspersed with other low growing perennials.

CULTIVATION

Easy to grow in average, well drainedĀ garden soil. The addition of lime to acid soil is beneficial. Cut the plant back to half its height in early autumn.

FERTILISING

Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.

WATER RATING

  • Red can = Little water in hot, dry weather.
  • Green can = Deep watering every few weeks in hot, dry weather.
  • Blue can = Deep watering weekly in hot, dry weather.
