The typical Scabiosa pincushion flowers are a clear mauve and appear from mid spring to mid autumn.
POSITION & USES
Grows best in a sunny position in a wide range of soil types. The dense foliage makes this plant a good weed suppressing ground cover. It is ideal along a path or interspersed with other low growing perennials.
Easy to grow in average, well drained garden soil. The addition of lime to acid soil is beneficial. Cut the plant back to half its height in early autumn.
Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.
