Description
(Plectranthus caninus (syn. Coleus caninus))
Superb winter display of lavender coloured and shaped flowers. Also flowers intermittently throughout the year.
Growing Tips
Dogbane likes hot, dry and sunny conditions in well-drained limey soils
Uses
Plant in areas where dogs and cats are not wanted. At best it will deter them and at worst it will add winter colour to the garden. A non culinary, but attractive garden plant that can be used in potpourri with other aromatic plants. Also called ‘Scaredy Cat Plant’ although there is no empirical evidence of it repelling pets.
