Description
(Pelargonium x fragrans)
A fruity-scented pelargonium with grey lobed leaves and dainty white flowers in spring/summer. Compact, rounded habit with flowers above foliage.
Flavours/Food Partners:
Partners with mints, other scented geraniums, Stevia and any of the Renaissance Tea Herbs. Use in teas, cool drinks, cakes, desserts, ice cream, biscuits and jams.
Health/Cooking/Medicinal:
The leaves can be added to salads and desserts or used in the baking of cakes and biscuits. Gives a mild chai-like flavour to drinks, jellies, jams and cookies. A hot cup of herbal tea with a few leaves of Stevia and some fresh Tutti Frutti Geranium leaves makes a refreshing and tasty tea.
Landscaping/Planting:
Plant in almost any well-drained spot in the garden and does well in poor, dry soils and exposed positions. Plant near paths for strong and pleasant fragrance.
Cultivation/Fertiliser:
Require regular applications of Seasol and Powerfeed. Water during summer months if dry.
