Penstemons are an excellent garden plant. They are easy to grow, attractive for most of the year and flowers generously. Native birds use them as a food source.
POSITION & USES
Penstemons work well with other perennials and lower growing shrubs, in large pots and the garden. They prefer a sunny position and normal garden soil with good drainage.
CULTIVATION
For best results fertilise at the beginning of spring. During winter prune to a woody frame about 30cm from the ground.
FERTILISING
Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.
