(Salvia x superba)
This compact selection features flowers of a deep violet-blue shade, even flowering well in its first year from seed.
POSITION & USES
Plant in a sunny position in normal garden soil that is not wet. Ideal in the front of a bed or as a border plant. Merleau Blue looks great in large groups mixed with other perennials such as Scabiosa, Penstemon and Nepeta. Well suited for pot culture.
Cut back at the end of summer to produce an autumn flush of flowers. Cut back again during winter to ready the plant for fresh spring growth.
Regular applications of Seasol and PowerFeed will keep it looking its best.
