Like all Gaillardias, Mesa Red is an easy to grow plant that makes a flamboyant display of bright flowers for a long period.
FLOWERS
The spectacular brick red flowers start in spring and last till mid autumn.
POSITION & USES
Plant in full sun in well drained but moisture retentive soil. Mesa Red can be used in perennial or mixed borders and it makes an ideal container plant.
CULTIVATION
Mulch the ground to keep in moisture, and water in long dry periods.
FERTILISING
Although Gaillardias tolerate poorer soils the plants will benefit from regular applications of Seasol and PowerFeed.
WATER RATING
- Red can = Little water in hot, dry weather.
- Green can = Deep watering every few weeks in hot, dry weather.
- Blue can = Deep watering weekly in hot, dry weather.
