A large shrub with attractive green foliage and rich purple flowers over a long period that has been in the trade for decades.

FLOWERS

Deep purple flowers from mid spring to mid autumn.

POSITION & USES

Grows best in a sunny position in well drained soil and will tolerate considerable heat and dryness. Use scattered through a large perennial garden with a mixture of pink penstemon and lavender.

CULTIVATION

Easy to grow. Prune the plant by about 40% after flowering finishes.

FERTILISING

Regular applications of Seasol and PowerFeed over flowering period will keep it looking its best.

WATER RATING

• Red can = Little water in hot, dry weather.
• Green can = Deep watering every few weeks in hot, dry weather.
• Blue can = Deep watering weekly in hot, dry weather.
