SPECIAL QUALITIES
This is a large species form from Mexico that is a stunning specimen or feature plant.
FLOWERS
The masses of long yellow infloresences occur from late summer to late autumn and are held well above large green leaves. All the flower parts are the same soft canary yellow making a stunning display when in full flower.
POSITION & USES
Plant in full sun in normal garden soil. Use as a feature plant in a small lawn or large perennial bed. Needs open well drained soil.
CULTIVATION
Like most of the large Salvias, Golden Fountain responds well to an annual prune after flowering.
FERTILISING
Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.
WATER RATING
- Red can = Little water in hot, dry weather.
- Green can = Deep watering every few weeks in hot, dry weather.
- Blue can = Deep watering weekly in hot, dry weather.
