SPECIAL QUALITIES
Dark green foliage with burgundy red stems and vivid red flowers. An easy to grow, long lived perennial Salvia.
FLOWERS
Vivid red flowers and stems on long heads that cover the bush over summer and autumn.
POSITION & USES
Plant in mass in a large cottage bed or as an edging plant along a path for a colourful summer. Also looks great in large pots. Enjoys warm sunny areas preferably in an airy location. Any well drained soil is suitable.
CULTIVATION
Prune off spent flowers to encourage re-flowering. A medium prune in late summer will help it keep its shape.
FERTILISING
Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.
WATER RATING
- Red can = Little water in hot, dry weather.
- Green can = Deep watering every few weeks in hot, dry weather.
- Blue can = Deep watering weekly in hot, dry weather.
