Russian Sage is an upright evergreen shrub grown for its aromatic narrow, soft, grey green foliage.

FLOWERS

Large spikes of lavender-blue flowers in late summer and autumn.

POSITION & USES

Prefers a sunny position in well drained soil. Ideal for low water use perennial beds and borders and for adding a stunning splash of blue in the garden. The flowers are also suitable for drying. May die back in heavy frosts.

CULTIVATION

Give it a light prune after last frost.

FERTILISING

Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed over spring and summer will keep it looking its best.

WATER RATING

  • Red can = Little water in hot, dry weather.
  • Green can = Deep watering every few weeks in hot, dry weather.
  • Blue can = Deep watering weekly in hot, dry weather.
