SPECIAL QUALITIES
The almost iridescent purplish-blue flowers are very striking and complement the blue-grey leaves. An R.H.S. Award of Garden Merit plant.
FLOWERS
Striking blue purple flowers in summer and early autumn.
POSITION & USES
Full sun to light shade and free draining soil are preferred. Grow Catherine de la Mare with other perennials or small shrubs such as Convolvulus and Parahebe inĀ general garden beds. It also makes an attractive pot specimen.
CULTIVATION
Although tolerant of dry conditions water occasionally in summer. Dead heading will prolong the flowers.
FERTILISING
Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.
WATER RATING
- Red can = Little water in hot, dry weather.
- Green can = Deep watering every few weeks in hot, dry weather.
- Blue can = Deep watering weekly in hot, dry weather.
