SPECIAL QUALITIES
Beacon Silver is an excellent spreading ground cover in shade or semi shade. The silver foliage is edged with green and is complemented by short spikes of pink flowers.
FLOWERS
The pink flowers form short spikes above the foliage in spring and summer.
POSITION & USES
Use mass planted under trees or on the shady side of a building where the silver leaves almost shine. It is very attractive along paths through ovemead trees. It can also be used in a pot or basket by itself or in mixed plantings.
CULTIVATION
Lamiums will grow in any good garden soil that is not allowed to dry out in hot weather. Trim back leading stems in winter to keep the foliage dense.
FERTILISING
Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.
WATER RATING
- Red can = Little water in hot, dry weather.
- Green can = Deep watering every few weeks in hot, dry weather.
- Blue can = Deep watering weekly in hot, dry weather.
