SPECIAL QUALITIES
Easy lo grow even in poor soils, especially near the sea. Almost continuously in flower.
FLOWERS
The flowers arc similar to florist’s statice. They are a purple-blue, held on stiff stems, and appear throughout lhe year, good for drying.
POSITION & USES
Plant in a sunny position in well drained soil. Tolerates poorer soils and dry conditions. Use amongst other low maintenance perennials in dry or Mediterranean style gardens.
CULTIVATION
Little attention is required. Cut back flower stems when flowers finish, and remove old leaves occasionally to tidy the plant.
FERTILISING
Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed from spring to autumn will keep it looking its best.
WATER RATING
- Red can = Little water in hot, dry weather.
- Green can = Deep watering every few weeks in hot, dry weather.
- Blue can = Deep watering weekly in hot, dry weather.
